TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
These terms and conditions may be amended from time to time and apply to all of our services.
By accessing, browsing, using and/or completing a reservation through our (mobile) website you acknowledge and agree to have read, understood and agreed to be legally bound to the terms and conditions set out below.
The customer making the booking accepts these conditions on behalf of all members of their travel party and is responsible for the entirety of the payment.
WAI ehf. is a tour operator, offering day tours in Iceland.
WAI ehf. reserves the right to alter itineraries and/or timetables should it be necessary, due to adverse weather and or other related conditions. WAI ehf. is not responsible for expenses and/or other related costs due to factors outside of its control, such as flight delays, changes and or cancellations, injuries, weather, war, natural disasters etc. and/or other unforeseeable matters. You are responsible for providing WAI ehf. with the correct contact information and related details so that we can keep you informed in the event of changes made to the services booked.
PRICES.
All prices shown on our (mobile) website are based on current prices. All prices mentioned on our (mobile) website include value-added tax.
Please note that all prices for the services provided by WAI ehf. are in Icelandic Krona (ISK). As a local operator, WAI ehf. cannot be responsible for currency fluctuations and or additional fees outside its control that may be applied such as bank transfer fees, credit card fees and etc.
PAYMENT.
In Case of a ready to Book Day tour
The client pays either directly online or via bank transfer.
Payments for Day Tours and Ready To Book Tours are made in totality at the time of the booking.
- We accept online payment, powered by PayPal.
- We accept Bank transfers.
- If a refund is granted, it will be done via the same channel as it had been received.
Once payment is done and recieved by WAI ehf. customer will be contacted shortly for the final confirmation and details of the upcoming tour.
TOUR DEPARTURE. PICK UP AND DROP OFF.
All booked tours starts at your selected pickup at the departure time given on your voucher.
You as the traveler are responsible for your pick-up, this includes providing WAI ehf. with your pick up location in time as well as being ready at the correct time for the pick-up for your tour. WAI ehf. will provide you with information about your pick up time on your voucher which is provided upon booking.
Pick up from Reykjavik and Kopavogur area is included in the price of the tour, additional charges will apply if the pick up request is from different location than Reykjavik and Kopavogur areas.
AIRPORT PICK UP.
Once your plane has landed, your private driver will wait for you at the meeting point indicated on your Booking Voucher.
If you feel that your group may take longer to arrive at the meeting point(due to passport control, customs, baggage claim, lost baggage, etc.) please send someone from your group to the meeting point to inform the driver of any delays or contact the driver-guide directly via the phone number provided at the time of the booking.
TRAVEL INSURANCE.
We strongly recommend that you purchase a travel insurance policy in your home country that covers your cost should you have to cancel your travel reservation with short notice. This kind of travel insurance is not expensive and frequently covers other risks. Having travel insurance is always a good idea when traveling around the world.
ICELANDIC WEATHER AND CONDITIONS.
All offered day tours are dependent on weather and general conditions. WAI ehf. reserves the right to alter routes, itineraries, departure times and or cancel your trip without prior notice with your safety in mind, should the necessity arise.
WAI ehf. can not be held responsible for any loss, damage, accident, injury, sickness, schedule change or other factors due to weather, strike, natural disasters or any other cause beyond WAI ehf. control. WAI ehf. cannot be held responsible for defaults or delays of organizations that are not a part of WAI ehf. such as individual agencies, hotels, other tour operators, airlines, guides, restaurants or any other person‘s or company‘s act.
ASSUMED RISK.
Our guides reserve the right to refuse participation to any customer who they believe will not be able to complete the tour because of their physical condition, injury or illness. In such cases, full cancellation charges apply.
Guests/Clients are advised that all tours are undertaken entirely at their own risk and they must behave in a fit and proper manner at all times.
CANCELLATION POLICY.
Cancellation from the customer must be made in written form and sent to WAI ehf. via email: [email protected]
Tour cancelled less than 24h before scheduled departure is non-refundable.
Tour cancelled more than 24h before scheduled departure is 90% refundable.
“No shows” will not be refunded.
WAI ehf. reserves the right to cancel your tour without notice, with your safety in mind. The tours cancelled due to safety reasons or force majeure in short notice will be refunded 100%.
SPECIAL TERMS FOR NORTHERN LIGHT TOURS.
The northern lights are a natural phenomenon and sightings cannot be guaranteed even if the tour is operated. We decide after 17:00 every day if conditions are favourable to operate the tour. We will contact you by phone or email if we will go ahead with the tour, but you can also call us on the day you are booked. If you book a Northern Lights Tour, but conditions (weather forecast, aurora forecast, force majeure etc) do not allow us to run the tour during your stay, you will receive a 100% refund. If we do not see Northern Lights on your tour, you are eligible for a free re-run any time for a period of up to two years from the date of the original tour.A free re-run tour is subject to availability. Under no circumstances will there be a refund, in full or partial, for a Non-sightings tour.
LEGAL.
WAI ehf. operates under Icelandic laws and regulations. Should there be a legal dispute it shall be settled with the District Court of Reykjavík. WAI ehf. is registered at Falkagata 10, 107 Reykjavik. Contact information about Reykjavik Private Tours legal representation is available upon request.
